Yesterday, 6 of your Yakima Firefighters took on the 2025 Stairclimb in Seattle!
This event has firefighters from around the world climbing to find a cure for Cancer. Firefighters climb 69 flights of stairs, 1,356 steps, and 788 vertical feet all while in full bunker gear and on air!
Your Yakima Firefighters raised over $3000 to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, with the event raising over $2 million to help fund cancer research.

Can any of you PLEASE rescue a cat that has been trapped in a tree at 720 N 3rd Ave in Yakima? The poor kitty has been treed by a dog since last Thursday. The owners of the property won’t allow anyone to enter to rescue the cat😥. The cat’s owner lives at 714 N 3rd Ave, but can’t get anyone to help. The cat will die if it’s not rescued SOON. 😥😥😥

One of our probationary firefighters was able to find a cat during their primary search of a home! Then he proceeded to give it oxygen due to the smoke environment the cat was found in. #iaff469

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our friend, brother, and Fire Mechanic Paul Weeks.
